Lead Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary
Direct the nightly respiratory care shift, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and efficient operations. Lead workload assignment, facilitate interdisciplinary planning, mentor staff through onboarding and precepting, and provide clinical support to staff, physicians, patients, and families. Maintain equipment resources and participate in PI, safety, and quality initiatives. Stay current on respiratory care practices, identify learning needs, and promote continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with policies and achieve department performance objectives.
Required Qualifications
- NBRC credentials required on hire: ACCS, AE-C, NPS, RPFT
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or ARC-BLS; BLS-I (Instructor) possible
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or ARC-ALS; ACLS-I possible
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ARC-PALS; PALS-I or PALS-Provisional (180 days)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or ARC-NALS; NRP-I or NRP-P (180 days)
- NBRC-RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
- Neonatal resuscitation prerequisites preferred: NBRC-RRT or NRP Instructor within 180 days
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Current advanced credential with minimum two years clinical experience in critical care areas
- Ability to participate in PI initiatives and quality/safety programs
