Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise disaster recovery and business continuity programs across cloud and on-premises environments. Architect multi-region and hybrid failover solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP (active-active, active-passive, pilot-light patterns); define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for all critical systems; establish IaC standards for DR automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi. Oversee DR for on-prem data centers, manage relationships with data-center providers, and drive virtualization recovery strategies (VMware SRM, Veeam). Design immutable backups and air-gapped environments, lead cyber recovery exercises, and integrate DR procedures with IR lifecycle and zero-trust recovery principles. Ensure compliance mappings to ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR as applicable. Plan and execute full-scale DR tests, maintain risk registers, and produce executive-ready reports and runbooks. Mentor engineers, lead vendor evaluations for DR tooling, and collaborate with security teams to embed DR in governance and audits. This role is based in Pune, India with enterprise-wide DR responsibilities and senior-level leadership expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in IT infrastructure
- at least 6 years focused on Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Deep expertise designing and operating DR solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with on-prem DR technologies: VMware SRM, Veeam, Zerto
- Experience building and executing ransomware recovery programs
- Strong command of ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34 / CSF, SOC 2, and relevant regulations
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proven track record leading enterprise-wide DR exercises and driving RTO/RPO
