Job Summary
Assist individuals with behavioral conditions and intellectual disabilities in a small group residential setting by providing direct support to build independence skills and improve quality of life. Develop, implement, and document treatment plans including ISP/IPs while performing hands-on tasks to facilitate support. Provide training on rehabilitative interventions, behavioral monitoring, safety regulations, and daily living activities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, and household chores. Assist residents in community integration by planning recreational activities, outings, and social events. Provide transportation as necessary and monitor funds, physical and emotional status, and medication administration in compliance with MAC requirements. Maintain records, enter data into electronic health records, and ensure required staff-to-consumer ratios are met. Perform last-minute coverage, ensure site safety and maintenance, and function as a human rights advocate. Maintain required certifications including CPR and First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' experience in a Residential Counselor role
- Demonstrated track record as an exceptional performer and team-player while in the Residential Counselor role
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives

- CPR certification within two weeks of hire
