Job Summary
Develop and perform procedures using established or modified techniques/protocols, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, protein detection, and cell-based assays. Troubleshoot experiments and identify anomalies in own data while consistently monitoring current literature and trends within the field. Accurately record experimental procedures and data to prepare results for posters, presentations, or publications. Provide guidance to less-experienced team members and perform other duties as assigned to meet department and institution goals. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. This role supports research on retinal aging, super-enhancer biology, and tumor models to identify novel therapeutic targets for children with cancer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area
- 5+ years of research experience
- 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree
- Strong knowledge and experience in understanding and application of underlying principles related to techniques being performed
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role
- Moderate proficiency in common molecular biology and biochemical assays, including techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, protein detection assays, and cell-based assays
- Experience in R&D methods and processes in lab setting, and execution of research projects for the laboratory
