Job Summary
Conduct specialized and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures for pediatric solid tumor models under minimal supervision. Independently run experiments, analyze results using FlowJo/Cytobank software, and assist in protocol design and scheduling. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment while monitoring quality assurance standards and hazardous substance handling. Demonstrate proper techniques to others and process clinical trial samples for mass cytometry. Review literature for research developments and compile findings into charts and graphs. Perform animal experiments and execute functional immunology assays, western blot, and RT-qPCR techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field
- Two years of research experience
- Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location
- Working remote is not an option
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with novel T cell therapy and immunotherapy approaches both in vitro and in vivo using human derived pediatric solid tumor models
- Ability to multitask and independently run experiments of all different types and analyze experimental results after being taught
- Minimum of 2 years dedication to this job
- Strong expertise in either immunology, immune-oncology or cell and cancer biology
- Demonstrated expertise in cytometry and immunophenotyping, including sample processing, data acquisition, and data analysis using FlowJo/Cytobank software
- Proficient skillset in functional immunology assays
- Routine cell culture or organoid modeling and molecular biology techniques (western blot, RT-qPCR, Elisa, etc.)
- Animal handling experience
- Self-motivation
