Lead Resale Equipment Technician

Lead Equipment Resale Technician handling evaluation, refurbishment, and preparation of returned, damaged, or surplus power equipment for resale. Performs basic mechanical repairs, coordinates service activities, and determines the most effective recovery strategy based on equipment condition, repair costs, and resale value. Serves as the primary owner of the equipment recovery process, maintains documentation, and collaborates with Distribution, Sales, eCommerce, Merchandising, and Operations teams to maximize asset value and support customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include evaluating equipment for disposition and resale, performing refurbishment tasks, identifying required replacement parts, coordinating with external dealers and internal resources, overseeing repair processes with third-party providers, communicating refurbishment status to eCommerce and sales teams, documenting condition through photos and assessments, suggesting corrective actions for recurring deficiencies, maintaining records and reports on returns and refurbishment costs, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory recovery. Qualifications emphasize knowledge of engines/power equipment, troubleshooting skills, multitasking, and strong communication; preferred credentials include Honda power equipment certifications or ASE, plus experience with warranty/service-tracking systems and vendor/dealer relationships.
