Job Summary
Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU NP Nights at Cobb Hospital. Direct and oversee the nightly respiratory therapy activities for the NICU, assign shift workload, ensure safe and effective patient care, mentor and precept staff, and collaborate with physicians, families, and other departments. Provide direct patient care, medication administration, and ensure equipment functionality. Support PI initiatives, data collection/analysis, and participation in process and quality improvements. Requires NBRC credentials (ACCS, AE-C, NPS, RPFT) for new hires after 11/13/2022), a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, and current credentials including RRT, BLS, ACLS (within 180 days or equivalent instructor/provisional), NRP/PALS preferred, and minimum two years of critical care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Respiratory Care Professional license/certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS (within 180 days or instructor/provisional within 180 days)
- Newborn/Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty credentials preferred (e.g., Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS)
- Reg Pulmonary Function Tech-Preferred or Adult Critical Care Specialist-Preferred or Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist-Preferred or Asthma Educator Specialist-Preferred
- NBRC Credentials required for hire (ACCS, AE-C, NPS, RPFT) for new hires after 11/13/2022
- Advanced credentials and minimum two years of clinical experience in critical care areas (Adult ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, ED)
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent accepted with 100 credit hours toward a BS preferred
