Job Summary
Leads daily management and supervision of the respiratory care staff, both clinically and administratively. Performs clinical duties including patient assessment, ventilator management, diagnostic evaluation and other respiratory care as needed. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team. Recommends/coordinates scheduling of work assignments and daily priorities of staff. Organizes department functions and administers all therapies as ordered by physicians, ensures pulmonary function testing accuracy, educates patients about their illness and relationship to therapy, and maintains equipment and supplies. Trains new staff, conducts performance improvement, and supervises substantially complex activities. Participates in emergency resuscitation as required and ensures infection control measures.
Required Qualifications
- RRT credential
- RCP license (CA)
- BLS certification
- NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential
- NEONATAL RESUSCITATION PROGRAM (NRP) preferred
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
- PEARS preferred
- NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential (Required)
- BLS per AH policy (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
