Job Summary

Lead the daily management and supervision of the respiratory care staff, both clinically and administratively. Perform clinical duties including patient assessment, ventilator management, diagnostic evaluation and other respiratory care as needed. Act as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge and serves as a leader/resource to the healthcare team. Recommends and coordinates scheduling of work assignments and daily priorities of staff. Organizes department functions and administers therapies ordered by physicians per policies. Ensure pulmonary function testing accuracy, educate patients about their illnesses and therapy relationships, and uphold knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, procedures, and equipment. Ensure adequate supplies and equipment, Direct staffing levels, billing procedures, and equipment maintenance; update department policies in line with current standards. Assist in emergency resuscitation when certified, manage supplies, enforce infection control, and train new staff. Participation in performance improvement activities and other duties as assigned. Organizational requirements include mandatory vaccinations for associates where applicable and E-Verify participation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's) – Required by CA posting
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license – Required in CA
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
  • NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AH policy – Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Preferred
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) – Preferred
  • Registered or Certified by NBRC – Required
  • Five years' technical experience with PICC, Peds, and/or NICU – Preferred
  • Two years' leadership experience – Preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications – RRT and RCP license – Required
  • CPR/BLS – Required
  • NRP – Preferred
  • ACLS – Preferred
  • PALS – Preferred
  • PEARS – Preferred
  • NBRC-RRT/NBRC-CRT – Required
