Job Summary
Leads the daily management and supervision of the respiratory care staff, both clinically and administratively. Performs clinical duties including patient assessment, ventilator management, diagnostic evaluation and other respiratory care as needed. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team. Recommends/coordinates scheduling of work assignments and daily priorities of staff. Organizes department functions, administers therapies as ordered, ensures accurate pulmonary function testing, educates patients about their illnesses and therapy, trains new staff, and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Requires RRT/RCP licensure in CA, BLS, and other certifications; leadership experience preferred; Bachelor's/Master's degrees preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's) — Preferred
- Master's Degree — Preferred
- Five years' technical experience with specialized knowledge in PICC, Peds, and/or NICU — Preferred
- Two years' leadership experience — Preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Respiratory Care Practitioner(RCP) license — Required in CA
- CPR/BLS certification from AH policy — Required
- NRP — Preferred
- ACLS — Preferred
- PALS — Preferred
- PEARS — Preferred
- NBRC-RRT credential or NBRC-CRT credential — Required
- BLS certification from AH policy — Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — Required
