Plan shifts, set daily priorities based on patient and physician dynamics, and ensure adequate materials and supplies are available. Assign, direct, and monitor nursing and support staff while developing patient care assignments that align with productivity standards. Assess daily patient care needs to ensure population-appropriate care and justify productivity variances to the unit manager. Provide input into staff hiring, training, and evaluations, and manage patient care complaints through established channels. This Lead Registered Nurse Med Surg role operates nights on the full-time schedule at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital within Ascension's nonprofit Catholic health system.
