Job Summary
Answer telephones, greet clients, and escort patients to exam rooms while representing the clinic's professional image. Admit and discharge patients, manage medical records using veterinary software, and prepare health, immunization, and euthanasia certificates. Educate clients on animal care, routine procedures, and over-the-counter products like shampoos and preventives. Handle client correspondence, process invoices, and communicate treatment plans empathetically. Maintain the front office environment, troubleshoot office equipment, and prioritize the veterinarian appointment schedule. Lead the reception team by building long-term client relationships and fostering a positive waiting area.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of reception experience in a veterinary practice
- Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
- Good visual acuity
- Close vision for computer work
- Comfortable around unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces
- Comfortable with exposure to animals including their actions and ailments
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft WORD and Outlook
- Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
- Ability to complete computer-based training
