Lead Quality Technician

Job Summary
Oversee daily quality inspection and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision tools like CMMs, calipers, and optical comparators. Lead the Quality Technician team, mentor junior staff, and coordinate inspections to meet production deadlines while resolving quality issues with engineering and production. Manage non-conformance reports, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and IATF 13485 standards. Maintain accurate documentation, prepare performance reports for leadership, and drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects. Support special audits and new product launches. Bilingual English-Spanish; 5+ years in injection molding quality assurance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in an injection molding or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection methods, tools, and techniques, including the use of CMMs and other precision measurement instruments
- Proven experience in leading quality teams, mentoring staff, and managing day-to-day quality control operations
- Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Bilingual English - Spanish
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods, handling small parts, and working in a cleanroom environment
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform light physical tasks as needed
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends to meet production deadlines or resolve quality issues
Desired Qualifications
- associate's degree or technical certification in Quality or related field
- Experience in an ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 13485 or other regulated environment
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications
- ERP or QMS experience
