Lead Quality Technician

Job Summary
Conduct quality control test/inspections and complex analyses of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Perform qualitative or quantitative tests on samples, maintain certification of test instruments, and train new inspectors on policies, procedures, and inspection techniques. Monitor performance, institute corrective actions, and ensure gauges remain calibrated and properly stored. Review Statistical Process Control (SPC) data, analyze results to identify deviations, and recommend modifications to standards or procedures. Coordinate daily work of lower-level technicians based on production schedules, perform product and process audits, and maintain batch history records for accuracy. Ensure documentation and procedures comply with industry standards while observing health and safety regulations in the assigned work area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate's degree
- Minimum six years related experience in inspection, injection molding, metrology, machine shop operations or similar industry/environment and/or training
- Experience certifying typical metrology equipment such as calipers, micrometers and computer controlled gauging equipment
- General knowledge of blue prints, engineering specifications interpretation, inspection using measuring and test equipment, SPC software and measurement techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerance and quality calibration processes
- General knowledge of process control charts, process capability studies and other statistical analysis applications
- Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
