Job Summary
Serve as the site technical authority for all shot peening processes, ensuring compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, and customer specifications. Lead audit preparation, develop work instructions, and provide oversight for Automated, Manual, and Tumble Peening operations. Manage calibration systems, preventive maintenance, and document control while administering operator training programs. Drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement projects, and process optimization. Act as the primary technical liaison for aerospace customers and OEMs, supporting new process qualifications and approvals. Monitor operational performance metrics and travel as required for audits and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years aerospace shot peening experience
- Hands-on experience with automated, manual, tumble peening, and shot peen forming processes
- Demonstrated NADCAP and AS9100 experience
- Strong understanding of shot peening theory, Almen intensity, coverage verification, media control, and process validation
- Experience with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Bombardier requirements
- Project management and continuous improvement experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills
- Intermediate experience with Catia programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Related technical field, or equivalent aerospace industry experience
- 10+ years preferred
