Job Summary
Lead Quality Engineer responsible for driving product and process quality within aerospace manufacturing. Drive COPQ reduction (scrap, rework, repair, escapes, warranty losses), investigate internal/external quality issues using structured problem-solving, and implement corrective actions. Develop containment plans to minimize customer disruptions and ensure timely response to quality events. Monitor production quality metrics (defect rates, yield, MRB, rework, customer complaints), ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, FAA, NADCAP as applicable) and customer requirements, and support audits and customer reviews. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to improve process controls, inspection methods, and error-proofing. Lead root cause analysis, disposition of nonconformances, and drive PFMEA updates, control plans, and quality risk assessments. Support supplier and incoming quality activities when issues are linked to external sources; promote continuous improvement and proactive risk identification on the shop floor. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience; strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder collaboration skills are desired. The position offers a base pay range of $87,000 to $116,000 annually and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality discipline) + Minimum of 3 years of experience manufacturing, engineering or quality discipline.
