Job Summary
Execute Program Quality Engineering, leading Customer Source Inspections, Supplier Quality audits, and Contract Reviews to ensure AS9100 compliance. Drive the 8D CAPA process, manage corrective actions for customer SCARS and audit findings, and facilitate internal and supplier audit plans. Develop SOPs and guidance documents while supporting Engineering Change Orders and material substitution requests. Develop and maintain quality metrics, perform data analysis for COPO, and manage calibration processes. Liaise with vendors, Program Managers, and cross-functional teams to resolve nonconformances. Ad-hoc travel required for customer visits and site audits. Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years experience; AS9100 and CMMI Level 3 knowledge essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering or technical equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience specifically within the aerospace and defense industry combined with military experience
- Experience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and software development
- Approachable hands-on style with the ability to engage with people at all levels of management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Superior analytical skills, capable of using current computer analysis tools (Microsoft Office, Outlook plus others applicable programs)
- Knowledgeable in the interpretation and application of the following standards: J-STD-001, IPC- A-600, IPC-A-610 Rev D Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721
- Experience interfacing directly with major customers on Quality issues
- Knowledge of tooling Calibration program management, recalls, calibration schedules and asset maintenance
- Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics and process plans
Desired Qualifications
- A background in Aerospace & Defense Programs, hardware & software development programs with CMMI Capability Level 3
- Experience with CMMI Level 3 capability appraisal process
- 8D or other structured problem-solving methodology expertise
- ASQ CMQOE and/or ASQ CQE
- Experience with SAP S4 Hana ERP Systems applications
- Knowledge and use of SQL, Python and or PowerBi dashboard developments
