Job Summary
Lead commissioning, installation, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, DFRs, SCADA systems, and automation systems across generation, transmission, and distribution substations. Perform advanced end-to-end relay testing using Doble Protection Suite, Omicron Test Universe, and RTS, while executing functional and scheme testing for reclosing, breaker failure, and communication-assisted protection. Troubleshoot and optimize protocols including DNP3, Modbus, and 8979 with specialized tools. Develop standardized procedures and mentor junior technicians to ensure safety and quality during field execution. Partner with clients, vendors, and engineering teams to deliver reliable power systems. Requires 5+ years of field experience in relay testing and substation commissioning, proficiency with Omicron and Doble equipment, and a valid driver's license with travel capability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years field experience in relay testing, calibration, and substation commissioning without direct supervision
- Expertise in three‐phase power systems, protection schemes, and SCADA integration
- Proficiency with Omicron, Doble, Vanguard, and related test equipment
- Skilled in RTS, Test Universe, Protection Suite, and Accelerator
- Strong leadership, problem‐solving, and communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel
