Lead Project Superintendent

Job Summary

Lead all aspects of moderately complex stand-alone projects from start to finish, managing multiple field supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost compliance. Develop work plans, coordinate site operations, and lead daily standups and weekly trade meetings to drive timely project completion. Manage material and equipment needs, approve timecards, and track budgets using project management systems. Negotiate project changes with owners and architects, support the project pursuit process, and cultivate long-term client relationships to generate future work. Ensure full adherence to JE Dunn's safety culture, diversity initiatives, and Lean principles throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license
  • Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
  • 8+ years construction experience
  • 5+ years field supervision experience
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to projects
  • Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project
  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
  • Proficiency in project management and accounting software
  • Proficiency in required JE Dunn construction technology
  • Proficiency in scheduling software
  • Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
  • Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through building relationships
  • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
  • Knowledge of layout skill
  • Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging
  • Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Lean principles
