Job Summary
Lead Project Engineer - Lines will have a strong understanding of the engineering environment in the design of high-voltage transmission lines for utilities and industrial clients. The role involves coordinating engineering, estimating, planning, and QA/QC across multidisciplinary teams, developing design deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, interfacing with Owner’s Engineering Team, supporting proposals and project execution, and mentoring junior staff. The position is hybrid and based out of Vancouver, BC or Edmonton, AB, with opportunities to lead complex transmission line projects within Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering
- Registered member of Engineer and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) or be eligible to register
- 10+ years of Transmission Line engineering experience
- Valid Canadian Driver’s License
- Advanced experience with electrical design for electric utility substations
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE and Canadian Utility standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset
- Skills in work organization, priority management, and teamwork in a dynamic environment
- Experience coordinating multi-discipline designs and construction projects
- Mentoring junior engineers and technologists
