Job Summary
Lead Project Engineer - Lines responsible for the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission line projects for utilities and industrial clients. Will coordinate multidisciplinary teams (electrical, civil, structural, geotechnical, line design), develop design deliverables, routing, conductor and structure selection, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements. Will manage scope, schedules, costs, QA/QC, design reviews, and stakeholder communications, acting as the primary interface with the Owner’s Engineering Team. Hybrid work model based out of Vancouver, BC or Edmonton, AB with responsibilities across Canada; requires 10+ years of transmission line experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering, EGBC eligibility, strong knowledge of electrical design for substations, and familiarity with Canadian standards. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, risk management, and mentoring junior engineers, within a dynamic, client-focused project environment.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of Transmission Line engineering experience
- University Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering
- Registered member of Engineer and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) or be eligible to register
- Advanced experience with electrical design for electric utility substations
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE and Canadian Utility standards
- Valid Canadian Driver’s License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Knowledge of French is an asset
