Job Summary
Drive day-to-day operational stability for critical payment platforms by supporting end-to-end availability, monitoring, and performance. Execute operational processes to ensure platform health, actively manage incident triage, and serve as incident commander for medium to high-severity events. Lead change readiness by defining test cases, validating lower environments, and supporting production deployments while adhering to governance processes. Perform hands-on troubleshooting across application behavior, infrastructure components, databases, and performance issues to isolate and resolve problems efficiently. Improve system health using observability tools to identify alerting gaps and detect anomalies proactively. Contribute to automation initiatives to reduce toil, drive process improvements, and implement DevOps best practices. Collaborate with engineering and program teams to highlight operational risks, provide structured stakeholder updates, and mentor junior members through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years experience in production support, SRE, or BizOps roles
- Exposure to managing incidents and supporting distributed systems
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Blaze meter
- Knowledge of automation and DevOps practices
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritise work based on current business needs
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship skills, collaborative skills and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
- Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines
