Job Summary
Lead Product Manager, Safety role at Wikimedia Foundation oversees cross-functional teams to identify critical safety-related problems and drive the development of new products and features that harden security and privacy for users. You will guide product planning and feature prioritization with a focus on user impact, leverage data and community feedback to inform decisions, and work closely with engineers, designers, data scientists, and community managers as well as key community groups. The role requires at least 5 years in product development (not necessarily with a formal PM title) and demonstrated success coordinating across functions, with strong data interrogation capabilities and excellent written and verbal communication. The position emphasizes collaboration with Wikimedia’s community model, broad online safety and privacy knowledge, and the ability to drive impactful product initiatives in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in product development and agile development
- Experience leading product initiatives across multiple functions
- Experience querying and analyzing data to drive measurable solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with management, staff, and communities
- Ability to manage diverse responsibilities in a dynamic, results-oriented environment
