Lead Product Manager, Acquisition (scribd.com)
$141,000–$253,500 year
On-siteChicago, Illinois, United States or New York City, New York, United States
Job Summary
Own the acquisition roadmap and decide where engineering investment goes, adapting as the market shifts. Develop a cross-channel view of acquisition investment to bring evidence-backed recommendations to channel owners and leadership. Build acquisition mechanics directly into the product through referrals, sharing, and experiences that help existing users bring in new ones. Maintain product capabilities for discoverability, search, AI-answer-engine readiness, and channel integrations while working hand in hand with Performance Marketing, SEO, Partnerships, and Brand teams. Identify and test new ways to reach users, scaling only those that prove durable. Set measurement standards connecting investment to long-term subscriber value rather than traffic or signup volume alone. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, and Marketing to ensure product and channel investments reinforce one another.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management or growth
- At least 2 years focused on user acquisition
- Experience in a consumer subscription business
- Working fluency across acquisition channels, including paid search and social, SEO and organic discovery, partnerships, and acquisition driven by the product itself
- A clear point of view on the strengths and tradeoffs of each acquisition channel
- The credibility to be a genuine peer to channel experts
- A track record of building acquisition mechanics into a product, such as growth loops
- Strong proficiency in data analytics, experimentation, attribution, and funnel optimization
- The ability to tie acquisition decisions to long-term subscriber value rather than cost per acquisition or volume alone
- A proven ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across marketing and product organizations
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward defining a new charter rather than inheriting an established roadmap
- Occasional in-person attendance
- Primary residence in or near one of the listed cities (Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C., Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City)
Desired Qualifications
- Nice to have: experience optimizing for AI search and answer engines
- Nice to have: SEO at significant scale
- Nice to have: B2C/B2B2C distribution models
