Lead Product Engineer

Job Summary
Develop and exploit commercially viable technical solutions and product offerings by exploring CAD technologies and tools while maintaining ISO quality compliance. Lead the execution of new products from concept to full production, validate finished items, and provide technical customer support. Supervise Product Designers and Product Engineers, mentor staff, and support the development of procedures and work instructions. Troubleshoot issues and manage special projects as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with Creo and FEA modeling. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10 years of relevant work experience
- 5 years of applicable technical experience with Creo (ProE)
- Experience with Product Development in an ISO controlled environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to handle the stress of working with others
- Ability to be available outside of normal work hours
- Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others
- Ability to lead by example
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
- Knowledge of methods and accepted practices of plastic injection molding, tooling, and tooling design
- Knowledge of plastic part design and plastic materials/additives
- Ability to obtain a passport
- Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally to support the business, including overnight stays and extended work hours during work meetings, travel may include weekends
Desired Qualifications
- BSME Degree – with cooperative work assignments in plastic manufacturing based companies
- 4 years of experience in project management role
- Proficient with FEA modeling and analysis
- Experience with Windchill or other PDM software
- Experience with SolidWorks, SpaceClaim
- Green Belt Statistics and Statistical Process Control
