Lead Product Engineer

Job Summary
Review customer requirements and develop technical system specifications for battery packs in industrial and low voltage automotive markets. Apply systems engineering methodologies to design, develop, release, and validate products while leading safety analyses including HARA, DFMEA, and FMEDA. Partner with test, simulation, and OEM engineering teams to formulate development plans ensuring verification and seamless integration. Prepare compliance documents for standards such as ISO and UL, and own all product design and quality documentation. Report project progress, anticipate risks, and propose mitigations with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field required
- 7+ years of relevant product engineering experience in the electronics, battery or mobility industries preferred
- Knowledge of a requirements management tool (DOORS, Integrity, ViSure) a benefit
- Working knowledge of electrical hardware (including wire harness), software and electrical circuit theory applicable to the mobility industry
- Requirements writing proficiency through work experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering and associated standards: i.e. INCOSE Certification, ISO 26262, ISO 15288
Desired Qualifications
- Masters preferred
- 7+ years of relevant product engineering experience in the electronics, battery or mobility industries preferred
