Job Summary
Lead Privacy Counsel at Saks Global provides legal guidance on enterprise privacy and data security, collaborates with Digital, Marketing, Tech, Information Security, and other teams, drafts and negotiates data processing and third-party protection agreements, updates privacy policies, develops global privacy training, manages incident response plans, and supports regulatory/compliance initiatives. Responsibilities include advising on privacy risks, documenting data flows, handling consumer rights workflows, and delivering practical legal counsel in a fast-paced, retail, data-driven environment. JD and bar admission required; 6-8 years of privacy-focused legal experience; CIPP/CIPM/CIPT desirable. In-house experience is a plus; compensation varies by geographic location.
Required Qualifications
- JD required.
- Member in good standing of the bar.
- Practicing lawyer with 6-8 years of experience; with requisite minimum of 4 years at a reputable law firm providing legal counseling primarily on privacy matters.
- In-house experience is a plus but not required.
- Extensive data privacy knowledge and experience is essential; an interest in retail, digital and/or experience within a B2C environment is desirable.
- CIPP/CIPM/CIPT certification (or equivalent) is also desirable.
