Lead Primary Care Clinician

Lead and oversee the Small Animal Primary Care and Urgent Care services at UQ Vets Small Animal Hospital (Gatton Campus). Responsibilities include managing daily operations (rostering, leave, recruitment, onboarding, staff training), providing clinical and professional leadership to veterinarians and staff, mentoring and role-modeling best practices, supporting case management and service delivery, contributing to hospital governance and continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality, relationship-centred care across routine and complex cases. The role also involves clinical teaching and supervision of veterinary science and veterinary technology students, contributing to course delivery and caseload management, and fostering external partnerships with organizations such as RSPCA. Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) registrable in Queensland, and membership of ANZCVS or equivalent with more than four years’ experience in general practice or emergency & critical care is desirable.
