Job Summary
Lead preschool teaching and supervisory duties include managing classroom operations, supervising teaching staff, and maintaining child/teacher ratios per EEC regulations. Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum while conducting bimonthly staff observations and annual performance reviews. Prepare parent screenings and assessments, report child safety concerns to the Center Director, and complete required professional development courses. Maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment through creative programming and participatory decision-making. Work M-F 8-hour shifts with a 45-minute paid break at the Mill St location in Worcester, MA.
Required Qualifications
- EEC certified Lead Preschool Teacher
- Associate's Degree
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of children's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns
- Knowledge of learning theories and curriculum development
- Leadership skills
- Ability to adapt and show flexibility
- Complete drug and alcohol screening as required by Guild of St. Agnes policy
- Complete a criminal background check (BRC) with acceptable results prior to start date
- Present evidence of a physical and (2) MMR tests with acceptable results prior to start date
- Complete First Aid/CPR Training within 6 months of employment
- Possess a working knowledge of and adherence to EEC regulations
- Manage and supervise teaching staff in the daily operations of the classroom
- Know and maintain child/teacher ratios in compliance with EEC regulations
- Maintain a creative, exciting, learning environment for children
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Plan and develop collaboratively, developmentally appropriate curriculum using agency guidelines
- Prepare screenings, assessments and individual conferences with parents/guardians
- Report to the Center Director any special needs or problems of individual children and any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect
- Complete Professional Development courses as required by EEC
- Attend and participate in staff meetings once a month
