Job Summary
Lead all teaching, organization, and supervision within the preschool classroom, creating a safe, age-appropriate learning environment under the Director's supervision. Provide instruction using the established curriculum while modeling a committed Christian faith to minister to students' spiritual needs. Collaborate with the Assistant Teacher to develop a high-quality program, delegate responsibilities, and maintain a collaborative classroom team. Plan and implement daily lessons, begin each day with age-appropriate devotionals, and lead weekly Bible stories and prayers. Observe and document student progress, communicate daily with families, and prepare written reports for parent conferences. Ensure compliance with Washington State licensing standards and maintain a safe, organized classroom space.

- Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God
- Prayerfully seeks God's will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA's Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC)
- Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC)
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader
- Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Short Certificate (20 credits) or equivalent or working towards the certificate
- One year of experience working with children of this age group
- Washington state required 30-hour basic training
- Infant/Child CPR and first aid
- Food handlers' card
- Proof of negative TB test
- Proof of MMR vaccination
- HIV and blood borne pathogen training
- Other certifications as deemed necessary by the state for work in a licensed childcare facility
- Microsoft Word

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and their parents
- Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary's List of Crimes and Negative Actions
- Must agree with and support without reservation CRISTA's Statement of Faith
- Must conduct themselves in accordance with the religious beliefs and practices that flow from that Statement of Faith and CRISTA's Christian Community Policy
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field
- Two years of prior experience as a lead teacher in a preschool classroom
- Teaching certificate for Pre-K-elementary age children from an accredited university or college
