Job Summary
Lead Power Electronics Engineer responsible for end-to-end design and development of high-power converters for Solar, BESS, and STATCOM applications. Own the product lifecycle from concept through validated delivery, focusing on high-efficiency power conversion, grid integration, and robust control systems for renewable energy plants and datacenter power architectures. Key duties include designing critical power components (IGBTs, SiC MOSFETs, gate drives, high-speed control boards, magnetics), performing electrical sizing and circuit modeling, developing and validating control algorithms for voltage-source and current-source converters, conducting hardware-in-the-loop and system-level tests, ensuring compliance with IEEE, UL, IEC, NEC standards, and mentoring junior engineers. Requires a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) with 8–10 years of relevant experience and proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, ETAB, and schematic/layout tools; strong leadership and communication skills; and a passion for advancing sustainable energy and datacenter infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 8–10 years of R&D or engineering experience in Solar Inverters, BESS, or STATCOM technologies
- Deep expertise in power conversion topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC)
- Strong background in semiconductor device physics, loss modeling, and control theory
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, ETAB; schematic/layout tools (Altium/ORCAD)
- Leadership experience leading complex engineering projects and mentoring personnel
- Experience with high-frequency PCB design, EMI/EMC optimization
- Understanding of grid-connected inverter behavior, reactive power compensation
- Excellent communication skills, ability to represent the company in technical forums
