Job Summary
Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer responsible for end-to-end design of complex plumbing and fire protection systems, lead a design team from survey through construction administration, serve as the Job Captain and primary technical liaison for stakeholders, perform independent engineering calculations, develop comprehensive specifications, and drive BIM/CAD workflows using AutoCAD and Revit to set design quality standards for NYC projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum of 6 years in a Designer capacity, including at least 2 years in a Senior or Lead Role within a professional engineering consultancy
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing engineering teams and overseeing projects of varying scale and complexity for at least 2 years
- Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to manage multi-scale views, global entity editing, and custom linetype creation
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of NYC building codes, NFPA standards, and advanced plumbing/fire protection design principles
- Preferred Qualifications: Licensure: Active Professional Engineering (PE) License
