Job Summary
Oversee the preparation of deliverables including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications for plumbing and fire protection systems from concept through construction. Determine system requirements for various building types, perform design calculations and equipment selection, and provide cost opinions on probable construction costs. Provide design direction and mentorship to the project team while conducting site visits and issuing reports. Independently apply engineering judgment to complete projects within budget and schedule, ensuring alignment with quality expectations and firmwide standards. Update master specifications and coordinate with other disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree for discipline work
- At least four years of plumbing design experience
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection
- Thorough understanding of project phases and their associated deliverables
- Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and standards including: UPC, IPC, NFPA and IBC
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Revit/AutoCAD
- Hybrid work schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant Professional Credential (i.e., PE, CPD)
- Ability to effectively communicate plumbing design options to a diverse stakeholder group
- Develop the ability to assemble and run a team
- Understand plumbing design concepts and effectively communicate them to others
