Lead Platform Engineer

Job Summary
Develop automation tooling and drive DevOps standards across development, quality, release, and product organizations. Own tasks at the application level, troubleshoot and refactor code, and influence team decisions while assisting peers. Implement and enhance deployment automation using Chef, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, GitHub, Sonar, and Artifactory to orchestrate builds and link the CI/CD pipeline. Engage in the full service lifecycle from inception through refinement, scaling systems sustainably and practicing blameless postmortems. Work with a global team across multiple geographies to optimize mean time to recovery during production events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience administrating Jenkins platforms and/or strong knowledge of writing Jenkins pipelines
- Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go, Groovy, Perl or Ruby
- Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that gets code from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort
- Experience in administering Cloudbees or opensource Jenkins
- Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency
- Experience in one or more of the following: Chef (Infra, Habitat)
- Experience using Jenkins to orchestrate builds as well as link to Sonar, Chef, Maven, Artifactory, etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline
- Experience engaging in and improving the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement
- Experience scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation
- Experience evolving systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Experience practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Experience taking a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event thru the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover
- Experience working with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones
- Experience supporting many different stakeholders
- Must abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
- Must ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
- Must report any suspected information security violation or breach
- Must complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines
