Job Summary
Design and deliver secure, scalable cloud and hybrid-cloud platform architecture solutions aligned with enterprise security, availability, and operational standards. Generate high-level system requirements and produce Technical Architecture Documents, logical flows, and models to ensure stakeholder alignment on evolving application and infrastructure needs. Resolve internet architectural and operational problems impacting global product availability and performance through root cause analysis and troubleshooting across cloud, infrastructure, and middleware layers. Evaluate new technologies, container orchestration, and service-oriented architecture patterns to support distributed systems with scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance. Lead workload placement and modernization strategies while partnering with security, risk, and compliance leaders to ensure adherence to encryption, identity, and auditability standards.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of network, operating system principles and web middleware
- Thorough knowledge in one or more core functions related to internet infrastructure design and/or web administration
- Must be high-energy, proactive, detail-oriented and able to function under pressure in an independent environment
- Must have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation and demonstrate the ability to drive results
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written and strong relationship and collaborative skills and organizational skills with the ability to work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team
- Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities is critical
- Experience designing cloud or hybrid-cloud platform architecture solutions
- Understanding of cloud security principles, cloud service models, and security control implementation
- Experience with container platforms and orchestration environments
- Ability to translate business, application, infrastructure, and security requirements into architecture designs and technical documentation
- Knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, middleware, integration patterns, and platform reliability practices
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in complex architecture scenarios and informally coach or guide engineers, architects, and application teams
- Experience in internet fundamentals related to web servers, application servers, internet security and other internet technologies
- Have you ever worked with Microsoft Visio to design middleware infrastructure from the ground up
- Can you interface with the user(s), application team(s), etc., and all other stakeholders in order to determine their (evolving) needs and requirements
- Can you generate the highest level of system requirements, based on the given requirements and other constraints
- Can you ensure that this set of high level requirements is consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined
- Resolve internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability and performance globally
- Research and evaluate new technology for possible deployment in MasterCard's internet infrastructure
- May assume lead and total accountability for ongoing regional projects as assigned; including responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation
- Implement, manage and support internet infrastructure components while leveraging current standards and best practices
- Perform problem diagnosis; performance tuning; capacity planning and configuration management for MasterCard internet components
- Assure system stability and future compatibility by monitoring production execution of all relevant systems

- Evaluate cloud services, infrastructure patterns, and platform capabilities to support application, product, service, and business requirements
- Design and support container-based platform and orchestration solutions that enable scalable, portable, and reliable application deployment
- Partner with application, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to identify, analyze, and document security requirements throughout the architecture lifecycle
- Apply service-oriented architecture principles to support loosely coupled services, reusable platform capabilities, and interoperability across applications and systems
- Define architecture patterns for distributed systems, including scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and fault tolerance
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting across cloud, infrastructure, application, middleware, network, and platform layers
- Architect enterprise AI platforms, including Claude Code, Amazon Bedrock, and developer AI enablement patterns
- Design cloud-native, hybrid, and multi-region architectures across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Private Cloud
- Lead workload placement, resiliency, and modernization strategy across programs
- Architect secure AI and Cloud solutions aligned to enterprise security frameworks
- Ensure compliance with identity, encryption, private connectivity, and auditability standards
- Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance leaders on enterprise approvals for AI and Cloud adoption
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines
