Job Summary

Provide technical leadership for therapeutic radiation treatment planning and delivery, collaborating with oncologists and dosimetrists on external beam, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, and radiopharmaceutical programs. Perform quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, CT scanners, and treatment planning systems per AAPM recommendations and regulatory standards. Mentor staff medical physicists, residents, and students while conducting physics chart reviews and peer reviews of treatment plans. Maintain documentation for commissioning and acceptance activities, and contribute to departmental initiatives and policy updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Medical Physics, or related discipline
  • Five years of clinical experience as a medical physicist in a radiation therapy department
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation Physics
  • Ability to be listed as an authorized user on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material Licenses
  • Participation in the American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Program
