Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address patient needs while administering injections, immunizations, sutures, and wound management. Interpret diagnostic test results including x-rays and lab studies, prepare accurate medical records in the EMR, and maintain infection-control protocols. Act as a clinical leader and mentor to new-graduate providers and allied staff, offering preceptorship and educational support when the Practice Manager is absent. Collaborate proactively with clinic providers to coordinate patient dispositions and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Willingness and ability to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
