Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs. Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret results, perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, sutures, and wound management, and counsel patients on wellness and therapeutic regimens. Prepare accurate medical records, maintain a safe environment adhering to infection-control protocols, and collaborate with clinic staff to coordinate patient dispositions. Act as a clinical leader and mentor to new-graduate providers and allied healthcare professionals, serving as a preceptor for their experiential growth.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
- Strong knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Strong knowledge of: Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Strong knowledge of: Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Strong knowledge of: Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred
- Strong leadership skills: Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
