Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address patient needs while administering injections, immunizations, sutures, and wound management. Interpret diagnostic test results including x-rays, ECGs, and laboratory studies, and prepare accurate electronic medical records using the EMR. Act as the clinical leader when the Practice Manager is absent, mentoring new-graduate providers and allied staff through preceptorship and educational workshops. Collaborate proactively with clinic practitioners to coordinate efficient patient dispositions and ensure compliance with infection-control and legal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Strong knowledge of: Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Strong knowledge of: Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Strong knowledge of: Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred
