Lead Physician Assistant (PA) - Urgent Care

Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address patient needs while administering injections, sutures, and wound management. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays and laboratory studies, then prepare accurate medical records and electronically sign office notes in the EMR. Act as the clinic leader when the Practice Manager is absent, mentoring new-graduate providers and precepting staff on clinical skills and professional growth. Collaborate with other providers to coordinate patient dispositions and ensure compliance with infection-control policies and state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
- Strong knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Strong knowledge of: Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Strong knowledge of: Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Strong knowledge of: Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting
