Job Summary
Conduct hands-on onboarding and training for new phlebotomists at various client sites, assessing competency and providing coaching to ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies. Train staff on proper specimen collection, labeling, handling, documentation, infection control, and safety protocols while adapting to each client's workflows. Serve as the primary training resource for new site launches and coverage at client locations, traveling throughout the Greater Chicago area and Central Illinois as needed. Monitor trainee progress, provide regular feedback to leadership, and assist with developing training materials, SOPs, and competency checklists. Maintain accurate training documentation and provide occasional phlebotomy coverage during staffing shortages. Full-time, hourly, non-exempt role with competitive pay of $20.00–$22.00 per hour and mileage reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5-6 years of phlebotomy experience
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Greater Chicago area with occasional travel to Central Illinois
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to travel between multiple client sites on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
- Additional healthcare education
- Experience training or mentoring others
- National Phlebotomy Certification
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques, specimen handling, and laboratory best practices
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple training assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
