Job Summary
Lead Phlebotomist at VA Medical Center in Reno responsible for venipuncture and specimen collection, coordinating daily phlebotomy operations, serving as primary liaison between laboratory leadership and staff, assisting with scheduling, workflow management, and training, supporting specimen processing and accessioning, and ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and quality standards. Must maintain accurate records and documentation; federal background screening required. Prior lead/supervisory experience preferred; national phlebotomy certification preferred. Regular schedule Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience
- National phlebotomy certification preferred
- Previous lead, charge, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to pass federal background screening requirements
