Job Summary
Monitor pharmacy workflow, reassign technicians, and prepare schedules to meet operational needs. Fill prescription items, package medications for dispensing and delivery, and prepare compounding products including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments. Manage inventory functions, monitor pharmaceutical levels, and identify expired medications. Input patient data and medication orders into computer systems to produce labels, mix or package IV medications, and service facility-based dispensing machines. Communicate with internal and external customers professionally while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with every other weekend off.
Required Qualifications
- IL Pharmacy Technician License
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting
- Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system
- ability to operate a computer
