Job Summary
Coordinate daily technician workflow, assign responsibilities, and monitor prescription processing accuracy while supporting staff training and development. Lead by example in maintaining operational standards, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing inventory levels. Escalate prescription discrepancies to the pharmacist and assist with controlled-substance procedures under supervision. Provide professional customer service, resolve insurance claim issues, and protect patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA standards. This role requires flexibility for varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, and involves background screening and credential verification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration, license, certification, or other credential required by applicable state law
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Previous leadership, senior technician, training, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflow and prescription processing
- Experience with prescription insurance claims
- Knowledge of pharmacy inventory procedures
- Strong computer and pharmacy software skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

Desired Qualifications
- PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent national certification
- 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience
- Previous Lead Pharmacy Technician or Senior Pharmacy Technician experience
- Experience training or onboarding pharmacy technicians
- Experience with pharmacy inventory management
- Experience with pharmacy insurance billing and claim rejection resolution
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial prescription plans
- Experience with prescription delivery operations
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic prescription processing
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
