Lead Payroll and Operations Analyst

Job Summary

Lead the Bank's Payroll function by designing processes, directing data collection and calculation, and ensuring accurate, timely processing. Manage escalated payroll, tax, and benefit issues while auditing payroll for each pay period and submitting for final processing. Approve post-payroll activities including benefit payments and oversee payroll accounting items such as general ledger maintenance and reconciliation. Serve as a liaison for immigration matters and coordinate all related compliance activities. Provide guidance to the Payroll team to ensure operations align with federal, state, and local regulations, while leading continuous improvement of core operations processes. Support end-user issues regarding HR systems and participate in human resources projects.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in human resources, accounting, business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Payroll administration or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) of HR system administration, including experience with multiple modules of Workday HCM such as Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Experience with ADP
  • Experience with Payroll accounting activities
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Ability to work with a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to organize information, analyze data and solve problems
  • Proven experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; HRIS and Applicant Tracking systems
  • Financial services or banking industry experience
