Job Summary
Lead daily pastry production by baking pastries, breads, cakes, and specialty confections while overseeing team members through task assignment and mentorship. Ensure consistent quality, portioning, and presentation across all offerings, including seasonal menu changes and holiday features. Manage inventory levels, receive ingredients using FIFO procedures, and maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. Safely operate commercial equipment such as mixers and ovens while minimizing waste and supporting production for café, restaurant, catering, and special events. Serve as the lead team member in the absence of the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of pastry or baking experience in a bakery, restaurant, hotel, private club, or similar hospitality environment
- Food Handler Certification
- Ability to read and scale recipes accurately
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Must be comfortable working in hot kitchen environments and around commercial baking equipment
Desired Qualifications
