Job Summary
Lead Ophthalmic Technician position responsible for monitoring daily clinic flow and staff assignments, assisting Physicians with examinations and administrative duties, coordinating schedules with clinic leadership, training and evaluating clinical staff, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting patient triage and clinic operations. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; COA/COT or OSC certifications are preferred but not required. Proficient in EMR and Microsoft Office; strong organizational and communication skills; physically able to perform duties with routine movement and patient care tasks. Based in Walker, MI with on-site responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to clinic efficiency and patient care excellence.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred, but not required
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) certification is preferred, but not required
- Proficient keyboarding skills, experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and image management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
