Job Summary
Lead Operating Engineer responsible for the proper efficient operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the assigned facility. The role includes supervising maintenance staff when applicable, performing preventive maintenance such as changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps and belts, coordinating with outside contractors, maintaining inventory, responding to emergencies, and compiling monthly building-operation reports. Requires thorough knowledge of HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, energy-management concepts, and safe work practices; may require shift work and on-call duties. Must comply with applicable codes and company directives; certification and licensing as required for the trade; ability to travel between properties; and successful completion of Cushman & Wakefield safety training and adherence to dress code. The compensation range is $32.13-$37.80 per hour and varies by location and experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting
- Appropriate license/permit for trade (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician License, City Licenses, Operators License, Steam Engineers License) as may be required
- Possess a valid Universal certification for CFC and HFC refrigerants (EPA 608)
