Job Summary
Conduct newborn hearing screenings in hospital settings, evaluating patient readiness and collecting demographic data for each eligible baby. Perform screens efficiently while providing parent education on the necessity of testing and result management. Upload results, billing, and state reporting by shift end, and notify the Site Supervisor of missed or final refer cases. Support onboarding of new technicians, assist with competency validation, and maintain equipment readiness. Act as the primary operational resource at designated locations, communicating staffing needs and workflow challenges to leadership. This role requires flexibility for weekends and national holidays, with 10% travel for meetings or training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays
- 10% travel required (occasional meetings or trainings)
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift)
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds)
- Frequently push/pull up to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting
- Proficiency in Excel and data entry
- Demonstrated history of strong quality metrics and productivity
- Previous experience training or mentoring peers
- Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision or as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
- Maintains professionalism and confidentiality
- Demonstrates compassion and sensitivity when interacting with patients and families
