Job Summary
Lead Network Engineer responsible for ownership of on-prem and cloud network infrastructure, including firewalls, switching/routing, VLANs and dynamic routing (OSPF/BGP), VPNs/remotes, and security. Must manage network performance, implement high-availability and redundancy, support wireless networks, ensure compliance with data security standards, document configurations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HVAC, security, manufacturing) to integrate network resources. Requires strong networking knowledge (CCNA/CCNP/Network+ or equivalent), firewall management experience, VPNs/remotes, and robust documentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator, with strong knowledge of wireless, firewalls, switching, routing, and ISP management
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
- Experience with firewall management (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar) and proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
- Knowledge of switching technologies like VLANs, trunking, and Layer 2 security
- Experience in wireless networking technologies (WPA2, WPA3, 802.11 standards)
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG
- Experience with VPNs, network segmentation, and remote access technologies
- Strong understanding of network security principles including encryption, IPS/IDS, and network hardening
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong documentation skills for maintaining network infrastructure records
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
